Links
There is a known correlation between the quality of life in our community and the quality of education in our public schools. The citizens of South Conway County School District have the established tradition of supporting the school district through their ad valorem taxes.
Several friends of the school system began to look for other ways to enhance the quality of education in the South Conway County School District. In September, 1995, the South Conway County Public School Foundation was chartered. The Foundation is modeled after others that have been successful in bringing improved education opportunities to their communities.

What We Do
The Board of Directors adopted the following mission statement:
The South Conway County Public School Foundation is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to enhance and improve educational opportunities in the interest of raising the level of excellence throughout the South Conway County Public School System.
The Foundation is operated by volunteers, as a "labor of love," with no paid staff. Expenses to run the Foundation are extreemly low allowing almost all money raised to be used for resources in the schools.
Some examples of support given to the district are: the purchase of classroom computers, software and other information-age equipment, books to improve student reading and math skills, and library holdings.
We also provide mini-grants requested by teachers, and administer a number of college scholarship funds without charge. For a list click here
Funds raised by the Foundation must be exclusively for purposes stated and are not intended as a substitute for state or local funding for operational purposes.

The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors. The terms of the board members are 3 years and are staggered. This structure is intended to provide continuity, while at the same time serving as a means for developing new leadership for future generations.
Race to the Future
Each year the Foundation sponsors our Race to the Future fundrasing event. Held in the fall each year, the event raises funds for a specific project within the district. The 2009 Event raised $30,000 to fund Distanct Learning Lab at Morrilton High School. Local businesses, civic organizations, individuals, and alumni from around the country contribute to raise the funds.

Through the gracious gift of Bud DeLong the Foundation has funds available for Mini-Grants for creative classroom projects that can not otherwise be funded by the district. Please click on the icon at right to access the mini-grant application. The form should be completed and correct approval should be obtained before sending to the Foundation for review.
